Sam Freeman (baseball)
Samuel Douglas Freeman (born June 24, 1987) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, and Washington Nationals. Early life Freeman started playing baseball at the age of four in the Carrollton Little League in Carrollton, Texas. When he was 12 years old his team won the Carrollton Pony League Championship. Freeman's pitching career started his freshman year of high school, one year before making the varsity team at Hebron High School (Texas), Hebron High School. He also played football at Hebron his freshman year. College career After graduating, Freeman was recruited to play for North Central Texas College (NCTC) where he played for 2 years. Samuel Freeman (1773–1857) was an English engraver. He died on 27 February 1857, aged 84. Works Freeman worked chiefly in stipple, and is principally known as an engraver of portraits. Among these were: * Samuel Johnson, after Francesco Bartolozzi; * David Garrick, Garrick, and Henry Tresham, R.A., after Sir Joshua Reynolds; * Robert Ker Porter, and Letitia Elizabeth Landon, after J. Wright (Freeman's original drawing from the portrait of Miss Landon is in the print room at the British Museum); * Thomas Campbell (poet), Thomas Campbell, after Thomas Lawrence, Lawrence; * Charles Elmé Francatelli the cook, after Auguste Hervieu * Queen Victoria, after Miss Costello, and others. Samuel Freeman (Canadian Politician)
Samuel Freeman (April 2, 1824 – April 1, 1902) was a merchant and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Queens County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1867 to 1878 as a Liberal member. He was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, the son of Samuel Freeman and Sophia Ford. In 1849, he married Charlotte Freeman. He was the founder of Samuel Freeman and Sons, which was involved in lumbering, shipbuilding and the sale of groceries. Samuel Freeman (philosopher)
Samuel Freeman is an American philosopher, Avalon Professor of the Humanities and Professor of Philosophy and Law at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a leading authority on the philosophy of John Rawls and also writes in political and legal philosophy, from a Rawlsian perspective. Education and career Freeman earned a J.D. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1977 and his Ph.D. in philosophy at Harvard University in 1985 under the supervision of John Rawls. He joined the Penn faculty that year. He has published many articles on issues in moral, political and legal philosophy from a Rawlsian perspective, some of which are collected in his 2006 book ''Justice and the Social Contract''.
